How to Vote

SMART KC is dedicated to stopping streetcar expansion that will bring with it higher taxes on property owners, including non-profits, and sales taxes that will have to be paid by anyone shopping within the expansion district. Please use our site to learn more about the What, Where and When, or download a ballot application below.

This is a mail-in election, so you've got to ask for a ballot. Follow these steps to oppose the expansion of the Transportation Development District (TDD).

  1. Verify that you live in within the boundaries of the district and are therefore eligible to vote.

  2. Download an application to request a ballot.

  3. Click here to get proof you are registered to vote. Enter your last name and birth date. Print the page with your name and poll location. If you still need to register, click here.

  4. Mail or hand-deliver the application and proof of voter registration to the Jackson County Courthouse. Must be received by MAY 23, 2017.
